The vignette is valid from 1 December of the preceding year to 31 January of the following year — 14 months in total, regardless of when it's purchased, and it is active immediately upon purchase, with no waiting period. Driving without a valid vignette: a fine of CHF 200, and you still have to buy the vignette for CHF 40 — CHF 240 in total. An improperly affixed or damaged vignette is treated as missing. Refund conditions are not published publicly — contact our customer support.
