Rules for cars and motorhomes
In Τσεχία, all vehicles with a maximum authorized weight of up to 3.5 tonnes must have an electronic vignette to use motorways and expressways. Vehicles with fewer than four wheels, such as motorcycles and trikes, are not subject to this requirement. Trailers are also exempt from toll charges. There is therefore only one toll category: vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
Who is exempt from the vignette?
Since March 2024, certain vehicles are exempt from the vignette requirement in Τσεχία:
- Electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles registered in Τσεχία. No prior declaration is required to benefit from this exemption.
- Vehicles used to transport persons with disabilities holding a national ZTP or ZTP/P card. In the event of a check, the cardholder must be present in the vehicle. Disability cards issued outside Τσεχία are not recognized for exemption, and a vignette must therefore be purchased.
